Our Goal
The LEIA Board committee is comprised of arts practitioners and professionals who saw a need to build an infrastructure for immersive and experiential art that any creator could use. The purpose of the committee is to lay the foundation of the organization: structuring bylaws, membership, and defining the initial vision of creating a membership led organization that can serve those invested in making careers in the immersive and experiential arts.

The Committee
Transparency is important. We encourage members of the community to reach out to the LEIA Board committee at any time to learn more about our work.

Here are our members:

Noah Nelson
Noah J. Nelson is the founder and publisher of No Proscenium, which has covered immersive art & entertainment since 2014. A professional public media producer by day and a theatre weirdo by night, Mr. Nelson holds a bachelor degree in Theatre Arts from San Francisco State University, and was part of two Peabody Award winning teams at YR Media (formerly Youth Radio). His work has appeared on National Public Radio, and in multiple online publications. Born in Orange County, raised in the SF Bay Area, he makes his home in Los Angeles: a Californian through and through.

Tommy Honton
Tommy Honton is a Los Angeles-based experience designer who specializes in weaving interactivity and game mechanics into narrative storytelling. Across the United States, he has produced interactive and immersive work for audiences of all sizes, ranging from 1 to 80,000. He is also co-creator and designer of the critically-acclaimed escape room Stash House and co-founder of the interactive exhibition Museum of Selfies.

Matthew Bamberg-Johnson
Matthew Bamberg-Johnson earned his B.A. in Theater and Dance from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and received his MFA in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts, where he gained a broad range of experience in Dramatic and Comedic roles for stage and screen.  In addition to his work with LEIA, Matthew serves as an artistic director of The Speakeasy Society, a Los Angeles based immersive entertainment company specializing in creating intimate ad epic works in unexpected places. Matthew also serves as Program Coordinator for the Performing Arts Department of ISANA Academies, a collection of charter schools in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Monica Miklas
Monica Miklas is a creative producer of immersive theatre with a career-long specialization in new work. Monica co-founded Los Angeles immersive theatre company Capital W in 2015, producing Hamlet-Mobile, Red Flags, And the Drum, and Rochester, 1996. Monica has produced live comedy for Lost Moon Radio since 2010, and as an active member of the Hollywood Fringe Festival community helped launch a creative workshop series for festival participants writing new plays. At Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra Monica developed a tiny immersive concert experience called the MusicBox and worked with contemporary composers to design interactive salons for patrons. A lover of dance as well as theatre, Monica performs on aerial silks and moonlights as the Community Programs Manager of Invertigo Dance Theatre. Monica is a graduate of Stanford University and the MBA/MFA Theatre Management program at California State University, Long Beach.
